It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas

I know, I know. Remembrance Day isn’t till this Friday, and thus, full-blown holiday festivities and celebrating and decorating really shouldn’t take place till after then. But I saw faux Christmas trees in Costco as early as August, so I really don’t think I’m out of line for featuring some holiday decor ideas a few days out from the official switchover to Christmastime. Below are some of my *favourite* holiday decorating ideas I’ve spotted this year!

From L to R, Top to Bottom

Debbie Travis ‘Northern Lights’ Stockings – $14.99 each @ SearsIt’s oh so trendy these days to have a stocking that matches whatever colour scheme you’ve got going on for the holidays. Ditch the ratty old dollar store stocking from your childhood and pick up something with a little more of the moment flair. These blue and silver-themed stockings are upgraded with luxe details like sequins, faux fur, and quilting.

Unicorn Ornament – $12.99 @ Drake General StoreThe folks at DGS pretty much always carry the weirdest ornaments, including felted chips, a tin slice of pizza, a wooden peg David Bowie, and a beaded sour soother. But my heart goes out to this metallic unicorn, that adds a little more merriment to an already festive tree.

2016 Porcelain Time Capsule Ornament – $15 @ IndigoMake it a family tradition and pick up this festively designed ornament. The simple white gold style works with almost any tree design, and this little bauble pops open to stash notes, photos, or other trinkets. Stash the kids’ Christmas lists in here, or hide a card of photos taken over the holidays to crack open a decade or two later.

Vinter 2016 Wreath – $29.99 @ IKEAThis reusable wreath is bursting with festivity despite nary a pine branch in sight. Bedecked with gold and silver ornaments, it’s a statement piece for your front door for sure. For the record, it also comes in a cool cranberry red and silver colour combination.

Tree Dazzler – $79.99 @ ShowcaseTired of getting those Christmas lights tangled up? This innovative product – featured on Shark Tank – will solve all of your decorating woes. just hook it up to the top of the tree, organize the vertical bulbs, and sit back and enjoy the light show.

Monogram Glitter Ornaments – $8 each @ Urban Outfitters: For a new age Christmas tree, add some plexiglass-esque letter ornaments for every member of the family (or just one person that reallllly loves themselves). Coming in day-glo hues, these cool ornaments are like mini snowglobes; shake them up and watch the sparkles fall down.

Cut-Out Metal Decorative Tree with Light – $49.99 @ BouclairThis stunning decorative piece looks great on its own perched on a sideboard, entryway, or in the window. But it looks just as beautiful when you flick it on to reveal a soft, wintry light. A wonderful pick for your mother-in-law or mom that loves to deck her home out for the holidays.
